COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

Due to the coronavirus, we are not currently doing park reservations.

Please refer to the city Parks & Recreation website for current Covid-19 restrictions.

Whittier Mill Village Park Reservations

Thank you for your interest in holding an event at Whittier Mill Park! Our park is City of Atlanta property. As such, the only official way to reserve the park, or a particular area of the park, is through the City of Atlanta.

We do offer "unofficial reservations", but depending on the size and type of your event, you may want to officially rent the park to be certain there are no other events or that you do not inadvertently violate city ordinance.

Especially:
  • Weddings (not required - we just don’t want to risk a day like a wedding to be ruined!)
  • Events with more than 75 attendees
  • Events where you need a specific area of the park, such as the Tower or Pavilion
  • Events that will require specialized audio or PA equipment
  • Events where you will be selling alcohol
  • Events in which restrooms will be required (rented by the event holder)
  • Of course, all people are allowed to come to City parks at any time and have a gathering. In some cases, permits are neither needed nor required.

Please check out our Park Rules and Regulations for more information.

Unofficial    Reservations

Whittier Mill Village Association (WMVA) and the neighbors of our village love our park dearly and work hard to maintain and improve all year long.

When you reserve the park through WMVA:
  • We add your event to our Calendar of Events, posted at the park, on our website, and is included in our community newsletter, so we are all aware of your big day.
  • Typically, we designate this by type of event (wedding, party, photography session, etc). If you would like to keep the details of your event private, we are happy to do so, and will simply mark it on the calendar as “Private Event”, your location within the park, date and start/end times.
  • Let us know if you are/have worked with the city for permits and reservations; we will add these details to our messages.
  • Reserving with us is free, although we do encourage donations to our Park Fund. Donations can be made:
    • by check to Whittier Mill Village Association (designate in the memo that this is for the Park Fund). Mail to: Melissa Moore (WMVA Treasurer), 2920 Parrott Avenue NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
    • Or by PayPal to: WMVAssocation@gmail.com.
  • These reservations are not guaranteed or enforceable, they are merely a useful tool to inform our residents and neighbors of your intentions to use the park.

We are excited to have you share your special day with us in Whittier Mill Park!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
